Maintaining Synthetic Curly Extensions

Hello Lovelies,

I had on this beautiful set of curls for 3 weeks. I sure didn't want to take them off but the net-closure was beginning to come off  leaving weave-track-trails... Yep. (Hansel and Gretel) again, helping me find my way home.

Week 1

Week 2

Curly weaves are beautiful but really hard to maintain, but once you have learnt this simple hair hack you can rock your bouncy kinky curls for as long as whenever. T
he weave was beginning to look dry on the third day,and they were no longer as soft as the first day.

So i used this simple trick to make my curls last.

What to use:
1. Your favorite hair conditioner
2. Curl Pudding
3. Water... Yes, Water.
4. Spray bottle
5. Satin cap/ Satin scarf

If you don't have a hair diffuser... that's fine just leave your hair to air dry

How To:
. Heat your hair conditioner for 2 mins ( i used a microwave),
. Turn the hot conditioner into a spray bottle with little water then spray on the hair; finger comb the hair while spraying,
. Use a little quantity of your curl pudding ,
. Wrap it up in a satin scarf or cap at night , so the hair can soak up all the nutrients then use a hair diffuser in the morning or like i said earlier, leave it to air dry.

Try this two times a weeks till you remove the weave.

I tried it darlings, that's why i am sharing and you can also share your experience with me in the comment box below.

Week 3

Love, love, Love the crown braid i switched it into.

I sincerely apologize for changing the template and the name without announcing. I have been trying to do this switch for a while now.

Thanks for understanding.

Have an enthusiasm for life, you need to have a DREAM and a GOAL. Enjoy your life , be enthusiastic: it keeps your dreams alive.

Simple Hair Tip and Trick

Hi Fam,

The best part of my day is coming here to you, sharing my thoughts and ideas and experiences…. I am no writer. But i think i have a good sense of humor, i guess.... lol.

So...

Am going to dive in with this simple hair tip and trick to achieving a soft hair. We all crave for a softer, longer and fuller hair. But, let’s start with a softer hair first.

This simple hair trick and hack to getting a soft hair is far from what you expect, and i will be giving out this tips in bits.

First...

Heat your hair conditioner, then apply on the hair for 30 mins

Increased heat and additional time increases the amount of conditioner that can deposit on the surface of the hair. More conditioner equals more softness.

You can try this at home or on your regular weekly visits to the  salon. In a salon, you will either have your hair wrapped in a towel after conditioning and asked to wait or covered with a plastic cap and placed under a dryer ( don't burn yourself,it can be really hot darling )
No pain, no gain they say...lol.

Heat allows the conditioner to deeply penetrate the strands, and moisture is restored inside out.

So, now that you have achieved a soft hair, please say this little beauty affirmation with me:

I am beautiful inside and out and
i attract beauty in all forms into my life.
I love my life,
I love my heart,
I love my body,
I love me.

What I Have Been Up To...

Trust me, it is no excuse to just blank out, But i have been up to a lot.

School stuff... Presentations... Hair Styling/ Making (and learning).... i learnt the most interesting things these past few weeks. But above all, the new method of making your beautiful Box braids and Senegalese twist without loosing your edges.

You know how the braid just keeps leaving 'braid trails' on your path... making you look like you are laying trails of hair pebbles to find your way back home, Yeah..(Hansel and Grettel)...Lol. There is a solution ladies... Hallelujah!!!
Braids can leave you "Edgeless' ...lol. BUT not anymore

We can now rock our protective hair (Box Braids and Senegalese Twist) all the time without going bald.
Presently rocking one

I am presently rocking Senegalese twist (Color 35), My edges are off .....i know *Covers Face*... But i installed my braids before i learnt this new method.

I sure will come your way with this method.

And in case you forgot to remind yourself this morning.... say this after me.
"My butt is perfect"
"My smile lights up the room"
"My mind is insanely cool"
" I am way more than enough and i sure am doing a great job at life"

How To Keep Your Weaves Looking Fresh

                           ‘You don't know, oh, oh
                          you don't know you're beautiful’……One Direction

I always love it when men sing about the beauty of a woman. It just makes us feel giggly on the inside. But you can’t feel beautiful and look beautiful with a bad weave, or smelly, or musty weave.
Now Aimee is here to give you some tips on how to keep you weave fresh, bouncy, shiny, Good as new and good to go. I like weaves, but don’t feel them when they look dull, dry, messy, and muddled up at the back.

Matted hair with visible new growth and tracks will definitely get you a side eye so here are tips on how to keep your weaves looking fresh:
1.       Wet the hair first with lukewarm water and use a mild shampoo, Scrubbing or bunching your hair could also tangle it. Rinse well and allow the weave air dry. https://www.jumia.com.ng/ors-moisturizing-shampoo-370ml-4205768.html

2.      Avoid oils because they weigh the weave hair down and will cause tangles and matting.

3.      Use a wide toothed comb for straight extensions and finger-style curlier weaves.

4.      I will encourage us ladies to have a shower cap handy…. Especially in this wet weather.

5.       Wrap your hair with a satin scarf at night….. easy lady,…. Not too tight; it can be highly discomforting. when its tight.

6.      Let your weave  air dry after washing. But if you must use a dryer, stick to the lowest heat setting.

Girl talk:
Ø  Did you see Agatha's glamified hair?
Ø  I so did, she is rocking that weave like she just made it.

That hair is amazeballs!"

Yep…. That’s what you get from following this little tip….. Until I come your way again. Keep your chin up,walk tall and Glamify

Protective Styles ( Crown Braids)

Hi fam,

So am back again with another post on Protective Styles for both natural and permed hair. And i will be using more of pictures for this post.

This crown braid is easy and cute at the same time, for one of those days you are feeling lazy but still want to look awesometastic
I rocked this look recently to school, and i was looking chic!.

Chic!

The Office Chic Look
For a night out with the girls..... or on a date *wink
Awesometastic

The benefits of this protective styling is :

1. The less you do to black hair, the better it flourishes. Our hair can rarely stand all types of manipulation you see in ads ,black hair tends to grow longer when left alone.

2. Growing longer hair is one of the most-cited reasons for choosing protective styling.

3. It keeps your hair soft.... if you doubt it, Try packing your hair for a week vs protecting your hair with crown braids for another week. See the difference yourself.
Simple tools for a perfect Crown Braid

1. Water ( Use a spray bottle).
2. Coconut Oil
3. Shea Butter
4. Gel
5. Wide toothed comb
6. Tail comb
7. Bobby pin

Style on and look GLAM!.

Using Garlic As a Hair Loss Remedy

Hair functions to protect the skin and to help maintain the body’s temperature balance. Hair growth is a cyclic process that depends on where the hair is located, the person’s age, family history, nutritional status, and environmental factors.
There are many ways to help hair loss, including the use of garlic. Yes, Garlic…a lot of people may say ‘yuck’, it smells bad. But before I go on with the steps to follow, let me give you a hint of what garlic contains; Calorie for calorie, garlic is incredibly nutritious.
A 1 ounce (28 grams) serving of garlic contains (3):
Manganese: 23% of the RDA.
Vitamin B6: 17% of the RDA.
Vitamin C: 15% of the RDA.
Selenium: 6% of the RDA.
Fiber: 1 gram.

Decent amounts of Calcium, Copper, Potassium, Phosphorus, Iron and Vitamin B1.
Follow a few simple steps to help combat hair loss with garlic.
1.       Start off with six to eight cloves of garlic. Peel the garlic cloves. Use a garlic press to get 1 tablespoon (14.8 ml) of garlic juice from these cloves.

2.       Once you've juiced the garlic, set it aside. Grab some honey and measure out 1 tablespoon .Mix the honey into the small bowl of garlic juice and put the mixture in the refrigerator.
3.       Brew chamomile tea. You can get this on https://www.jumia.com.ng/swanson-100-certified-organic-chamomile-tea-2586724.html Once the tea has brewed for the right amount of time, pour the mixture into a cup.

4.       Once our tea is done, take the honey and garlic mixture out of the fridge. Mix one egg yolk into the mixture. It may take a minute to get it combined because the honey is thick. Add one tablespoon of aloe vera gel and mix very well.

5.       Gently massage the mixture into your scalp, not all of your hair. Since the hair grows from the scalp. After it is on your scalp, wrap your head with a clean towel for 20mins.

6.       Wash the mixture out of your hair with a very gentle shampoo. I have gotten good feedback on this product; Cantu https://www.jumia.com.ng/cantu-shea-butter-moisturizng-cream-shampoo-5382261.html . Rinse thoroughly, take a second egg yolk and massage that into your scalp, this time rinse off with warm water.

Finish this cycle by pouring a cup of the chamomile tea over your scalp, rinse your hair once again with it. Do this 3 times a week until hair re-growth begins or shedding stops. Repeat the treatment twice a month.

Exciting right, all that Garlic phobia will disappear once you start seeing results. And trust me, Garlic has other benefits asides hair loss. You too can get your natural, or permed hair looking healthy again
